Welcome!

I’m Cait, a 27 year old nanny from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have two dogs named Zoey and Annie who are only SO bad because they’re SO cute. Mike’s my best friend in life and truly the most terrific human I have ever met. I love baseball, writing, and traveling. Also tacos. That’ll be important moving forward.
I was diagnosed with a Paraganglioma (PGL) in March 2019 – Which is just a fancy doctor word for a rare tumor that causes all kinds of havoc on the body it has made a home in. Do tumors get squatters rights? This is NOT your home, sir.
I was also diagnosed with the SDHB gene mutation in July 2019 – or as I like to call it, the SDHB-S (Bull-Shit) gene mutation. And that just basically means my body is an easy bake oven for tumors. That’s not it though. It’s genetic, so that means there’s a 50% chance, if i chose to have a child, it would have the same tumor creating gene mutation as I have.
This is my story. About my life after being diagnosed with a rare disease. The good, the bad, and the sponge baths.
I am 1 in 1 million – A zebra in a stampede of horses.
